Oshkosh 2014

When I first went to Oshkosh, I thought it was going to be a one and done kinda thing.  By after missing 2013 it made sense to start going every other year or so (this may change in the future obviously)..  So 2014 became the mission.  Having gotten my Private Pilots license (upgrading from a Sport Pilot) I headed off with a good friend of mine Eric Semp for his first trip to Oshkosh.  The new opportunity this go around was to camp vs. staying in a home.  Staying in a home at Oshkosh offers some creature comforts like air conditioning, a bed (or cot) and a show with hot and cold controls.  But there are things that make it a bit more of a challenge including ground transportation to/from the airport which, unless you're renting a car is difficult.  The public transportation to Oshkosh is really good, but the hours make it difficult to enjoy some of the after-hour events at Oshkosh, of which there are many.  So camping it is.

We had some fantastic weather flying into Oshkosh as well as some spectacular views during the show.  I know this - I will be camping going forward.
