 Oshkosh 2016 - July 23 ~ July 30

This years trek to Oshkosh was in a Saratoga from the Ten-Hi club I was a member of along with fellow Ten-hi member Justin Peters.  As with previous years, new plane, new passenger going to Oshkosh.  This years mission on the flight was to get my instrument cross country under my belt as Justin was not only a CFII but also an airline pilot with United Airlines.  I handled most of the flying to Oshkosh under the hood up to about the last hundred miles or so when the weather started getting dicey and we needed to keep our eyes outside for weather as well as traffic.  You can get an instrument arrival into Oshkosh, but definitely not advisable for someone just getting their instrument ticket.  Plus the arrival times are quite coordinated.

This years major show piece was the Martin Mars air tanker.  It was REALLY impressive to watch and it was equally as loud.  I think it also was my first year riding in the Ford Tri-motor.
